Boston Mayor Michelle Wu does not represent the will of the people

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, you’ve probably heard about Boston Mayor, Michelle Wu, and her radical, dangerous, and very concerning stance on ensuring law enforcement in Boston does not cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Since President Trump announced his plan to remove known criminal illegal aliens from America, Michelle Wu has lashed out and publicly stated that Boston is a sanctuary city and “No one tells Boston how to take care of our own, not kings, and not presidents who think they are kings. Boston was born facing down bullies.”

Wu showed her true colors in another statement in early March when she offered condolences to a psychotic maniac’s family who was shot dead by an off-duty police officer after running around the streets of Boston trying to stab people. She certainly has a way with words.

The city of Boston has repeatedly ignored ICE detainers and released criminal, illegal aliens who have been arrested back onto the streets with little or no bail. To say it’s concerning would be an understatement. Before Wu’s recent doubling down on her radical sanctuary beliefs, Tom Homan, the current “border czar” responded to Wu stating, “I’m coming to Boston and I’m bringing hell with me.” He sure kept his word.

This week, Tom Homan announced that ICE had arrested 370 illegal immigrants in Boston and surrounding communities in Massachusetts, including child rapists and known gang members from some of the most dangerous gangs in the world. Homan even came to Boston to oversee the operation. The fact that officials and politicians in Massachusetts knowingly allow illegal alien criminals to roam the streets after being arrested should be a major concern for everyone.

According to ICE, of the 370 illegal aliens arrested in Massachusetts during the most recent operation, 205 had had “significant criminal convictions or charges”. They also seized 44 kilograms of methamphetamines, 5 kilograms of fentanyl, 1.2 kilograms of cocaine and 3 firearms. The rest were illegal immigrants who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Yes, they broke the law because they entered the country illegally. As a friendly reminder, that is a crime.

Here are just a few examples of people ICE apprehended in their most recent operation in Massachusetts. A Dominican alien who illegally re-entered the U.S. after removal and was charged with trafficking fentanyl. A Chilean alien convicted of 4 counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years old. A Guatemalan alien charged with rape and convicted of enticing a minor under the age of 16.

And these people were in our country illegally and are being protected by elected politicians, like Michelle Wu. Let that sink in.

The question I struggle with is why the residents of Boston and communities in Massachusetts continue to let this happen? Where is the public outrage? Why is this allowed to continue? I find the silence and lack of dismay intriguing.

Elected officials like Michelle Wu are a disgrace to America and the residents of Boston and Massachusetts should be appalled. Just remember, this is the person you chose. I have a hard time believing that the majority of Boston residents agree with Michelle Wu’s approach.

Michelle Wu does not represent the will of the people I know in Massachusetts. Yet for some strange reason, politicians like her keep getting elected. What will it take for this madness to end? Will there have to be another case like Laken Riley for Massachusetts residents to wake up? Will it take someone getting lit on fire on the T before change is demanded?

Tom Homan and ICE have one simple request for Massachusetts. If there is an ICE detainer on someone you arrest, honor the detainer, contact ICE, and let them come to the jail and take them into ICE custody. Isn’t that a better alternative than having ICE officers show up in force, raid houses, and risk their lives and the lives of others? It certainly seems like common sense, doesn’t it?

I have never lived in Boston, and I never will. There’s an endless number of reasons for that and Michelle Wu is one obvious example. Unfortunately, Boston is too close to home for me not to care about the decisions made there.
