If you want to be able to get away with anything in Massachusetts up to and including murder, become a cop.
How many MA state troopers have gone to prison for their crimes?
Almost none.
How many MA state troopers have lost their six-figure pensions for their crimes?
Even fewer.
How many MA state troopers were either fired or forced to resign because they refused to take the COVID shot?
At least a few dozen, and none of them had committed any crimes.
This is the way the Massachusetts State Police operate. They protect the bad cops, and they drive out the good ones.
That’s the lesson of this latest MSP scandal, the beat-down at the bar room in Marina Bay of a 37-year-old state cop, who made $143,000 last year, by another larger cop, age 39, who made $209,000 in 2025.
We know their names, but the MSP brass won’t officially release them – professional courtesy.
The State Police dragged their feet on notifying the MA POST Commission, which is supposed to certify all state peace officers – as well as suspend and decertify any bad apples.
As of yesterday, both honky tonk heroes were still certified.
I was thinking about the fired COVID state cops yesterday as I searched for some photos of the Quincy pugilists.
One photo that I discovered, and tweeted out, was from the MSP’s own Facebook page from back in 2019.
They ran a photo of several combat veterans, in their military uniforms. One was the victim of the ReelHouse attack, but another one of the guys on the page was Timothy Barry Jr.
Barry was both a Marine and a Sunday school teacher, a third-generation cop. He was the first state trooper fired for not taking the jab. Gov. Charlie Baker was a true believer in the Panic, as you may recall. Heretics had to be burned at the stake.
So the crooked brass dragged Barry out of a class at the academy in New Braintree in front of his peers. They took away his cruiser. He had to call to get a ride home, to Quincy (ironically, where both of this weekend’s thugs live, and where they were boozing).
The lieutenant handling Barry’s public humiliation was a guy from western Mass who’d once been charged in district court with pushing his wife’s head into an unflushed toilet.
That state cop is still on the MSP payroll. He didn’t lose his job. He made almost $220,000 last year. He’s protected, good people.
This is the MO of the State Police. Look at Michael Proctor, Scott Quigley and all the rest. The worse your behavior, the more your fellow crooked cops protect you.
Remember on the old TV show Dragnet they’d always say, “Only the names have been changed, to protect the innocent.”
The MSP say, “Only the names have not been released, to protect the guilty.”
It’s not only the State Police of course. The Town of Canton just released its report on ex-Sgt. Sean Goode, Michael Proctor’s XXX-rated texting buddy. His texts, some of which were released earlier by Karen Read’s attorneys, are at least as appalling as Proctor’s.
They “show bias against several races and ethnicities.”
That’s an understatement. Among the unexpected targets of his ire are Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Patriots owner Bob Kraft and Anne Frank, of all people.
On blacks: “They want to just rob and steal. They love being criminals… I would never go on camera… I would freeze then blurt out (c-word) or (n-word)… I wish I had a lot of jewy friends. I wouldn’t spend money like a (n-word) on pay day.”
Goode really despises Jews: “Jews controlled the election… An she’s a Jew… So she def puts out… Jew nose… Full blown Jews from Sharon are the worst. Entitled (c-words)… Too many Jews… Never understood whiny Jew humor.”
He sent out a driver’s license photo of a guy he pulled over, described him as a “tub of (s-word)” but said he couldn’t give him a ticket because “god already (bleeped) him for life.” His crime, according to Goode: “Driving fat and ugly.”
His favorite description for women is not the c-word. It’s “sluts.”
Then there’s his fact-free description of Karen Read, whom he testified against as a law enforcement professional, under oath:
“Jesus every girl will Want a brain tumor, multiple sclerosis, colitis if you can look Like that in yoga pants after killing your boyfriend.”
The point is, the Town of Canton had most, if not all these messages, last October – almost nine months ago.
According to the report, after reading these texts, last Oct. 24 the Town told Goode it was “placing you on a paid administration leave of absence, effective immediately, pending the outcome of an administrative investigation.”
Key word: paid.
We all understand it’s about union contracts. But c’mon. This vile dirty cop, Michael Proctor’s best friend, got a nine-month PAID vacation before he finally “resigned” on June 2.
And now, after covering up Sgt. Scott Quigley’s fatal MV accident for two years, and not releasing his BAC of .114, the State Police adamantly stonewall the release of the names of the Marina Bay brawlers.

You’ll be taken coddled, pampered, protected. Unless, of course, you’re a Sunday school teacher. In that case, you’re fired.
