The Billionaires Push Back – 5.21.26

The left thinks billionaires are bad. Yes, they make a few exceptions for the ones who share their ideologies and fund their campaigns (think Steyer, Pritzker, Soros) but the Democrat party loves to vilify the 1 percent.

But something seems to be changing. The evil, mustache-twirling billionaires seem to have finally said enough is enough and they are pushing back on the narrative that they are to blame for all the world’s ills.

It started with Ken Griffin.

The Citadel CEO was the focus of a creepy ad by socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Ken Griffin, as you can see in the second part of that clip, decided to take Mamdani at his word and bring his business elsewhere.

Mamdani hit the panic button real quick. Cue the walk back.

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon also has had enough of Mamdani’s grand plans.

Mamdaniisn’t the only mayor who is reversing their tough talk on the 1%.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson also opened up a can of worms with these comments on millionaires leaving Seattle.

That, coupled with her previous criticisms of Starbucks, prompted a HUGE mea culpa from the Mayor in the New York Times.

The NY Post reported:

Seattle’s lefty Mayor Katie Wilson admitted she was wrong to slam Starbucks and push for a boycott of the mega-coffee chain birthed in the Pacific city.

Wilson, 43, issued a terse mea culpa to the New York Times this week as questions swirl about whether the liberal Northwest city can attract and retain businesses, including Starbucks, which recently chose to expand its footprint in Tennessee.

The Democratic socialist made waves last fall when she joined a barista union rally as mayor-elect and expressed her disgust with one of Seattle’s most recognizable businesses.

Then there was Jeff Bezos’ recent interview on CNBC in which the Amazon CEO dismantled the left’s arguments that he needs to pay more money in taxes.

It seems like the billionaires may have had a meeting of the minds and decided they aren’t going to painted as the bad guys anymore.
