It would be bad enough for a sitting US Senator to post Iranian propaganda.

But to celebrate Iranian propaganda? That’s a new low. Even for a sleaze bag like Chris Murphy.

After the internet correctly pointed out that Murphy’s tweet was despicable… he began to walk back his gross comment.

Ok Twitter, I can’t believe I need to clarify this but obviously Trump’s bungled mismanagement of this war is not “awesome”. As I have said a million times here, it’s a disaster and he should end the war immediately. My tweet was something called “sarcasm”. https://t.co/aL9vSEzZC1

He also tried to diffuse the backlash by blaming the “cesspool” that is Twitter.
