Taylor’s Takes: Who do they think they’re fooling?

What they’re facing now is a crisis of their own making.

You don’t hate the media enough.

Say it with me.

You don’t hate the media enough.

It gets truer every time you utter it.

CNN’s Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson of Axios have released their book, “Original Sin,” documenting the demise of Joe Biden’s intellect while he was President of the United States.

Unfortunately, the book is about six years too late. Those of us who were paying close attention saw all of the red flags related to Biden’s aptitude when he sleepwalked into the field of candidates ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

I won’t go through the hit parade of Bidenisms. You wouldn’t be reading this if you weren’t already aware of them.

It’s only now that the media (CNN, MSNBC, etc.) are seemingly coming to grips with the fact that Biden was in much worse shape than they were led to believe.

And therein lies the problem. They had a belief system to begin with. They believed what they were told. Damn their eyes.

They were told by the likes of Jen Psaki, Karine Jean-Pierre, Ron Klain, and others that Joe Biden was sharper now than ever. That he was an early riser, working out in the gym first thing in the morning and on the phone with world leaders after a quick breakfast.

Aside from Fox’s Peter Doocy, the White House Press Corps seemed disinterested in any information beyond what they were given concerning Biden’s condition. So annoyed were they that whenever Doocy did ask about the absence of Biden in the briefing room, I could swear I often spied the ever-so-subtle eye-roll from NBC’s Peter Alexander.

This week, Jake Tapper and Chuck Todd (formerly of MSNBC) spoke, independently of each other, relaying the same message: The White House lied to us about Biden.

That’s true. They did lie about Biden’s condition. But that’s their job. Retain power at all costs. Don’t let them see the man behind the curtain.

Your job, Chuck and Jake, was to expose the man behind the curtain. Your job was to dig deeper and ask questions. Rely on those anonymous sources you’re so fond of. Get the ball rolling.

What they’re facing now is a crisis of their own making.

Leading up to the 2020 election, Joe’s wayward son Hunter’s laptop and it’s seedy contents were exposed for the world to see by the New York Post. What should have been a damning indictment of a corrupt family went largely untouched by all other media outlets.

Those institutions were told that the laptop was “Russian disinformation.” And a letter signed by 51 former intelligence officials testifying to that theory was good enough for them to dispel the laptop.

They believed the narrative without working to verify it for themselves. It cost Donald Trump the election.

Then COVID came.

Anybody care to guess what happened?

The media continued to rely on information strictly from the Biden White House, pushing any wild theories about the origin of the pandemic aside and labeling them as mere conspiracies. Fauci, the Cuomo brothers… these were the people who knew better.

The media blindly followed instructions, spreading panic and misinformation of their own. And now millions of Americans are suffering the consequences of taking an experimental vaccine, or continue to live their lives in perpetual fear of ever breathing in another germ.

In both circumstances, COVID and the laptop from hell, the media was forced to come forward with their tails between their legs. Outlet after outlet came forward to independently verify the veracity of the laptop and it’s contents, albeit years too late. And outlet after outlet had to come forward to correct their reporting on hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, Joe Rogan, etc.

You would think they learned their lesson.

But, of course, they didn’t. They fell into the same trap with Biden’s health. They relied on what they were told by the people who didn’t want them to know the truth.

And now they look plain foolish trying to foist the blame solely upon the disinformants in Biden’s circle.

What’s sad is that this little loophole will work.

Tapper and Thompson will get their big payday with the book.

Chuck Todd will be able to rebrand himself as a font of truth.

And others will tell you this is why you can’t trust what the current administration tells them. How convenient that the current administration is adversarial with the press.

That’s ok, though. The only people who will fall for this ploy are those who were still watching the lifeless “news” networks. And these are people who couldn’t be red-pilled no matter how hard you tried.

You try force-feeding someone a capsule through a KN95 mask.
