Springtime for Putin, winter for Ukraine and NATO

Barack Obama once famously said of his vice president, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to (bleep) things up.”

Obama of course is a Democrat, and that quote comes from one of the party’s semi-official organs, Politico.

I mention those facts only because in the wake of the Ukraine catastrophe, which is merely the latest example of Joe’s ability to (bleep) things up, we are now being told by the Deep State’s usual amen chorus that it is in fact unpatriotic, if not treasonous, to criticize the commander-in-chief.

But this is yet another Biden disaster, is it not?

Gasoline prices are double what they were 13 months ago. Ditto, home heating oil. And you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Does anyone seriously believe any of this would have ever happened if Donald J. Trump were still president of the United States?

No one wants to send U.S. troops to protect Ukraine’s borders. Yet somehow, under the previous president, Vladimir Putin never felt emboldened to gobble up any of his neighbors.

Now Putin, the tyrant Biden once compared favorably to Peter the Great, is back to the same m.o. he utilized under both Obama and before him George W. Bush.

Yet the Democrat stenographers with press passes endlessly told us, in fact still do tell us, that Trump was Putin’s puppet. So why didn’t Vlad the Impaler try to move into Ukraine during the reign of Orange Man Bad?

Time for another quote. I don’t know if Robert Gates, the former secretary of defense under both Bush and Obama, is a Democrat or Republican, but this is what he said of Joe Biden:

“I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

That was eight years ago. So now it’s a half century that Dementia Joe has been getting absolutely everything wrong.

One reason Putin didn’t move when Trump was POTUS is because he wasn’t rolling in foreign currency from exporting fossil fuels, the only real commodity Russia has. The reason Russia was hurting happened to coincide with the U.S. not just becoming energy independent, but actually again exporting to, among other places, the European Union.

First thing Brandon did on Jan. 20 2021 is shut down construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. Then the Democrats started shutting down drilling for oil and gas, in various ways. Guess what?

Suddenly the U.S. wasn’t energy independent anymore. The price of oil began rising. OPEC was back in the saddle again.

And now, with apologies to Mel Brooks, it’s springtime for Putin, winter for Ukraine and NATO.

And Biden thunders that he’s going to impose … sanctions. As if anyone with money can’t buy anyone he wants, whether it’s legal or not. Ever hear of a black market, Mr. President? Maybe you should ask the smartest man you know — your crack-addled son Hunter — if he’s ever had any problems buying banned substances.

Richard M. Nixon saw America’s downfall coming, way back in April 1970.

“If, when the chips are down, the world’s most powerful nation, the United States of America, acts like a pitiful, helpless giant, the forces of totalitarianism and anarchy will threaten free nations and free institutions throughout the world.”

A pitiful, helpless giant. That’s the U.S. right now. First it was the Taliban, now Putin, and warming up in the bullpen, the mullahs and Little Rocket Man. They have a small window of opportunity. At least let’s hope it’s small.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon says climate change is the biggest threat to U.S. security. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff rages against … not terrorism, but “white rage.”

The Brandon administration fervently believes in the sanctity of the borders of Ukraine. The borders of the US — not so much.

Hordes of illegal immigrant criminals are swarming across the Rio Grande every day, and Biden thinks it’s all good. A new underclass! More undocumented Democrats! Fentanyl for all! It’s all part of Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America into a Third World hellhole.

But the Democrats do care about Ukraine’s borders, and not just because Hunter Biden used to get $83,333 a month from a Ukrainian energy company. Hey, the Biden Crime Family always hedges their bets — Hunter also grabbed $3.5 million from the widow of a mayor of Moscow who was thisclose to, you guessed it, Putin.

Nancy Pelosi, who is behind Kamala Harris in the line of succession, on Wednesday confused Ukraine with Hungary. There’s been a lot of that going around. Here’s Biden recently talking about foreign affairs.

“And and and there’s no way we were ever going to unite Ukraine I mean excuse me I-I-Iraq Afghanistan no way that was gonna happen.”

Given the woke priorities of the Brandon administration, one must ask the question: What are the pronouns of the Russian invasion?

You know, I miss Donald Trump. But even more, I miss $1.70-a-gallon gasoline.

And one final quote, from H.L. Mencken more than a century ago, about what would happen in America on what he called some great and glorious day:

“The plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and a complete narcissistic moron.”
