Relief Packages for Illegals, Not You and Me
It is time for all of us to stop being chumps.
Summer vacation is finally over for Beacon Hill. Brace for impact.
Tomorrow the plan is for the House and Senate to actually be in formal session to take a vote on the so-called tax relief package. I hate to be the Debbie Downer, but don’t get your hopes up for a refund. (Something tells me you weren’t expecting a big illegal-alien-style basket of freebies anyway.)
The deal between the House and Senate was reached five days ago and we still know nothing about what is in the package.
Surprise. Surprise.
That they are keeping it a secret from the public is never good news.
What we do know is that the package will “cost” the hackerama roughly $500 million. With the price of gas rising again, could it be a suspension of the gas tax? That would have a price tag of $500 million. Yeah right. In our dreams that will happen.
A suspension of the gas tax is a non-starter because that would help law-abiding American citizens who get up and go to work every day. Do the Democrats want to help you? Have they ever?
“No way Jose!” as the Third World “migrants” say at their flophouses when someone asks them if they want a job that would require them to pay taxes.
This so-called tax-relief package is going to be some “equitable” crap where the middle class gets no help. Moreover, $500 million is chump change in the context of a $56-billion state budget.
Remember, Gov. Maura Healey has filed a $2.4-billion supplemental budget that includes $250 million to import more hordes of illegal immigrants. It includes funding for lawyers and everything else under the sun.
This new Welcome Wagon of freebies for the foreign freeloaders is on top of the $300 million package passed last winter by the legislature.
So, looking at the math, we working-class taxpayers are a tiny fraction in tax relief of what the non-working-class illegal immigrants are getting in taxpayer-funded benefits.
It is time for all of us to stop being chumps.
