Michael Horowitz’s FBI Whitewash Must Grate on Crooked Fed Zip Connolly
Down in Florida, jailbird Zip Connolly must be wishing he’d been prosecuted by Michael Horowitz rather than John Durham.
Because if he had been, the crooked FBI agent would undoubtedly be a free man today, retired and living on his old cul de sac in Lynnfield instead of doing hard time at South Bay Correctional & Rehabilitation Facility on the shores of Lake Okeechobee, serving out a state sentence for second-degree murder that runs until 2039, when he will be 98 years old.
Where was the toothless watchdog Michael Horowitz when Zip needed him?
Participating in a gangland hit in Miami? Merely a “serious performance failure,” as Horowitz dismissed the corrupt FBI’s attempt to frame the elected president of the United States.
Falsely reporting that serial killer Whitey Bulger was not in fact a hitman for the Mob? No problem, Horowitz might have found. Merely a statement that was “inconsistent with information gathered … inconsistent with a factual statement.”
Six FBI agents in the Boston office taking regular payoffs from local mobsters? Horowitz’s recommendation might have been that the FBI “review the performance of the employees.”
If you want to hide something real good, just stick it in one of Michael Horowitz’s law books. He will leave no stone unturned, except the one the crooked Democrats are hiding under.
Not that his 476-page report on the systemic corruption of the FBI isn’t utterly damning of the rotten-to-the-core Bureau. But in the end Horowitz just couldn’t bring himself to, well, call a spade a spade.
“We did not find documentary evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the FBI….”
In other words, never mind the volumes of evidence to the contrary that we’ve laid out for you.
After this close call, the shady Deep State operatives are crowing, at least publicly. But they have to be hearing the footsteps. They’re still in a photo finish, if not with a grand jury, at least with history, and it’s all on the guy who first put Zip Connolly behind bars, on a federal racketeering rap.
John Durham, the U.S. attorney for Connecticut.
When Durham was tasked with cleaning up the generations of corruption in the Boston FBI office (even Peter Strzok put in a tour here, a third-generation hood with a badge), he set up shop not in Boston, but in Worcester.
That’s how serious Durham was about getting to the bottom of the swamp.
Obviously, the corruption in the Boston office of the FBI, as bad as it was, was small potatoes compared to Spygate. It’s quite a leap from railroading Joe “the Horse” Salvati for a murder he didn’t commit to trying to frame Donald Trump after he was elected president of the United States with 63 million votes.
Horowitz is an apparatchik. He is only following orders. That’s his job. He did what was expected of him by his fellow swamp things.
Durham, and his boss, Attorney General Bill Barr, seem made of sterner stuff. Which was why Durham was so quick on the trigger after Horowitz’s namby-pamby on-the-one-hand-this-on-the-other-hand-that report was issued.
“Our investigation has included developing investigation from other persons and entities, both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S.”
Key word: outside. That’s where the Democrats hatched their fantastic plans to fix the 2016 election.
Fortunately, the FBI and the DOJ and the CIA, not to mention the DOD and the State Department, were every bit as incompetent as they were corrupt. What else would you expect, with dim bulbs like John Brennan, James Comey and James Clapper running the coup? Obama’s “intelligence community,” run by those, who, like their president, were of below-average intelligence.
So now Barr and Durham keep taking foreign trips, often to Italy, home of the Maltese professor, Joseph Mifsud, who lied three times to Robert Mueller’s angry Democrats in the Spygate 2.0 conspiracy, yet wasn’t prosecuted. I wonder why.
What does Zip Connolly think as he reads all this stuff in his prison cell in sunny south Florida? All he wanted was a vacation home in Chatham, a boat, a table at the old Joe Tecce’s and an occasional pat on his greasy head from one of the Bulger boys.
He never tried to overthrow a president, but now he’s doing life.
Who do you think Zip Connolly is rooting for now? I’m guessing John Durham. It’s tough to lose, but it’s a little easier to lose to somebody who’s going down in the history books.
