Maura Healey’s policies kill everything they touch
She killed local truck sales and she is putting many gun stores out of business. What could she possibly offer now?
How much more proof do we need that Gov. Maura Healey has no clue as to what she is doing?
This week the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection announced a delay of the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) regulations to require manufacturers to “produce” and sell zero-emission trucks.
Question: Why did they delay the regulation?
Answer: Because truck sales had dropped by 99 percent.
According to the Healey rule, dealers were allowed to sell both types of trucks, but in order to sell a gas fueled-vehicle they first had to unload an EV. Hence, sales dropped to almost ZERO, because no one wanted an electric truck. That’s one way to kill emissions.
While everyone is in favor of a clean environment, policies need to be written for the real world. EV trucks can only run for about four hours and there are no charging stations for them. Maybe Gov. Healey should have done her homework on these basic facts before implementing a regulation written in fantasy land.
This is not Healey’s first blunder into never-never land. Last year, she signed the Act to Modernize Firearms Law. Most of the bill has had to be suspended, because it was not written by people who have any functional knowledge of guns.
But once again the facts did not stand in Healey’s way for enacting the emergency preamble, thereby undercutting Toby Leary and the Civil Rights Coalition’s effort to suspend the entire law immediately via the referendum process. For Healey, it’s all about the headlines.
Putting her Green Fantasy Land agenda first, she stopped two natural gas pipelines and raised the fees for the Mass Save program. Not understanding the consequences of her actions, our energy bills skyrocketed. To save her political hide and to get a headline, Healey gave us a meager $50 credit. I can only imagine how nonsensical her new energy bill, which she claims will save us money, will be.
Once again, brace for impact.
Healey also announced this week a new program to help small businesses deal with
Trump tariffs. Really? She killed local truck sales and she is putting many gun stores out
of business. What could she possibly offer now?
But don’t panic just yet. Her big initiative is to survey businesses. Hence, it was just another ploy to grab a headline or two. There will be no fake policy help from Healey that does more harm than good.
Thankfully, less than two years remain of the Healey administration. Like Rory McIlroy, the Republicans will make a tough comeback.
