1:33 PM: First witness, paramedic Timothy Nuttall, is on the stand.

Alan Jackson is absolutely toying with Timothy Nuttall. He fell right into the trap and admitted that his memory is terrible, and didn't even remember something that he discussed with Hank Brennan last night.

Remember: Brennan opened on Nuttall as the anchor of the "I hit him" evidence. He called him as his first witness. And the witness goes Peter Brady voice on direct when claiming he saw "I hit him," and then admits on cross that he changed his story and remembered things better…

10:57 AM: A lot of complaints about the audio in the feed. Seems like that was mostly due to Hank Brennan pacing around and not staying behind a mic. The audio quality has much improved since Alan Jackson took to the podium.

What to expect in openings:

Fox 8 reported:

Both sides’ opening statements are expected Tuesday. Special prosecutor Hank Brennan said last week that the prosecution plans to use on-camera interviews Read did with the media during their opening statements. Attorney Alan Jackson will speak for the defense, which plans to display a single photograph during their opening statements.

New Trial, New Rules:

Other news today includes an interesting change in protocol as reported by Aidan Kearney.
