Breaking: Prosecution Reveals New Strategy in Karen Read Retrial – 4.15.25

But a recent update from the prosecution reveals that Karen Read’s high profile TV interviews are going to play a role in the retrial.

MassLive reports:

In the filing Monday, Brennan said the statements range from Read’s “immediate impressions and state of mind in the minutes and hours surrounding John O’Keefe’s death to crafted narrations, sometimes in the presence of counsel that recount for the defendant’s version or impressions of events months and years after the murder.”

Read has participated in a number of interviews since her first trial ended with a hung jury.

The Boston Herald also reported on the Norfolk DA’s plans to use Read’s statements from TV interviews against her in the trial.

Read gave extensive interviews to HBO Max for “Body in the Snow.” She also spoke to NBC’s Dateline for “The Night of the Nor’easter,” and to ABC’s 20/20 for “The Perfect Storm.”
