Best of Luck: Watch the Most Talked About Moments from Snowplow Driver’s Testimony in Karen Read Retrial – 6.4.25
One of the more memorable witnesses from the first Karen Read trial was the snowplow driver Brian “Lucky” Loughran.
His appearance was notable for a few reasons. One of them being that unlike almost everyone else who took the stand, Lucky seemed like a likable guy. He wasn’t defensive or snarky or arrogant. He seemed decent.
And those same traits came through again today on the 27th day of the Karen Read retrial.
Lucky’s version of events, if believed by the jurors, destroys the CW’s case against Karen Read.
Here are some of the stand out moments from Lucky’s day on the stand.
After Loughran’s testimony wrapped, Boston 25 News reported a change in the court’s schedule.
After Day 27 of testimony wrapped up, Cannone told the jury that she would see them on Friday due to extreme heat forecasted for Thursday.
“I am assured that not only are we on schedule, we’re ahead of schedule,” Cannone informed the jury. “I understand tomorrow is supposed to be very hot. Court officers are concerned about how we’re going to keep the fans and air conditioners going, and be allowed to hear the witnesses.”
Boston 25’s Shiri Spear said in her latest forecast that temperatures are expected to soar past 90 degrees.
Cannone continued, “I’ve talked to the lawyers. Everybody’s in agreement that because we’re ahead of schedule, we’ll give you tomorrow off. We won’t be in session tomorrow.”
Court will be back in session on Friday.
