I’m not sure how much angst I caused my parents when I was a child, when I would come home from the library with an armful of books on the paranormal. I can only imagine what they were thinking while watching me flip through pages filled with alleged photos of the Loch Ness Monster, Sasquatch, and ghosts.
Of all of my childhood interests, learning about those subjects and wanting to know the truth sticks with me to this day. I never lost that childlike sense of wonder when anything remotely related to those topics came up in the news.
And these past few years have become an absolute goldmine for anyone who shares in that curiosity. Since the 2017 New York Times piece, which released videos of UFOs (now officially referred to as unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs) taken by Navy fighter jet pilots from as far back as 2004, the public has been treated to a slow trickle of government-sourced videos of strange goings on in the sky.
Now, thanks to President Donald Trump, that slow trickle has turned into a comparative Niagara Falls of UFO-laden goodies being publicly released.
Earlier this month, following a directive to all associated government agencies to release any and all documents related to UFOs without compromising national security, the first tranche of so-called evidence was posted online for all to see. Seven glorious web pages of typed-up memos dating back to the 1940s, satellite video from the 21st century, and even pictures from an Apollo mission on the moon awaited eager enthusiasts and conspiracy theorists.
While several of the videos and still images were captivating, having never been seen before by the mass populace, many of those who had been salivating over their release were ultimately disappointed by what had come to be known as “Disclosure Day”.
Not me. I was exuberant. Ask anyone in the office, from Grace to Howie and Jarred. I was showing them pictures, videos, and explaining theories. I was quite happy that the United States government, which had long practiced secrecy and cover-up operations related to the UFO phenomena, was finally admitting that something was out there and they were keenly aware of that.
Of course, we had all known they were aware. But never before had they been so forward in stating that and sharing some key evidence of the existence of something unexplainable, for now.
On Friday, a second tranche of documents was released, even richer than the first. Dozens of videos, most of which depict fast-moving orbs colored white by infrared cameras on satellites or high-altitude drones, were splashed onto the war.gov/UFO page.
Many of the videos are quite incredible: a cluster of UFOs flying past a formation of Iranian mosquito boats in 2022; a silver orb criss-crossing mountainous desert terrain and dipping into a canyon before seeming to disappear into the side of a cliff; several orbs swirling around a submarine, effortlessly and seamlessly dipping in and out of the water.
I encourage you to go through them yourself. Though I would caution you to hold some skepticism when you come to the video titled “USAF ANG F-16C (callsign [CALLSIGN]) Shoots Down UAP over Lake Huron”. That video was taken one week after Biden ordered the Chinese spy balloon that had traversed North America to be shot down over the Atlantic, and seems to actually show the downing of a benign, privately-owned weather balloon (that is, if you believe the official narrative).
While I was left slack-jawed viewing the latest video drops, I couldn’t help but feel some of the disappointment others had expressed with the primary release.
I understand this may seem like a big undertaking to the nameless top brass in the departments that have long covered up the knowledge that is now being slow-walked into the limelight. But the temperature reading based on the traction the videos have been receiving on social media shows me that many are quite apathetic about the whole issue.
The initial frenzy of new videos is one thing. It’s exciting for some to see brand new images being released. But there is little to no concern, from what I see, over what this means for humanity.
The reason for that, I believe, is that the big question is still unanswered:
WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE THINGS?!
President Trump summed it up in a Truth Social post when the first batch of documents were released: “Whereas previous Administrations have failed to be transparent on this subject, with these new Documents and Videos, the people can decide for themselves, ‘WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?’ Have Fun and Enjoy!”
I’m having fun. I’m enjoying. But I have a very hard time believing that our government and others don’t know “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON”.
There are too many whistleblowers now who have disclosed the vast array of secret government programs and claim that the government is not only in possession of a number of downed or abandoned UFOs, but may also be in possession of the beings alleged to inhabit these vessels.
Are these whistleblowers the real deal? Or are they psyop plants intended to distract?
With the disclosure of these documents, I surely hope this administration is fully prepared to disclose the true source of the UFO phenomenon, leaving no question unanswered.
Otherwise, this release is as big a letdown as the release of the Epstein files.
