Orange Bags? Westchester County Chaos as Voting Machines Malfunction - 11.3.26

Earlier today news broke that Westchester County, NY was having serious issues with their voting machines.

ABC 7 NY wrote:

A countywide voting problem that disrupted Election Day operations across Westchester County is being caused by a printer issue involving paper ballots, according to the Westchester County Board of Elections, which says every ballot cast will still be counted.

The issue surfaced Tuesday morning when voting machines at polling locations across the county began rejecting ballots. Municipalities, including the Town of North Salem, alerted residents that scanners were not accepting ballots and advised voters to continue casting ballots while election officials worked to resolve the problem.

Rep. Mike Lawler immediately encouraged voters to stay in line.

"Rep."

Later, Lawler discussed the issue with the press and updated concerned voters.

Social media erupted with many users skeptical that this problem was going to be handled correctly.

The outrage finally illicited a response from the Westchester County Board of Elections:

What a disaster. Who could have seen this coming?
