Every American Should Be Outraged Over Election Integrity

On Thursday, July 16th, President Trump held a news conference to make several major announcements about election integrity in America. The speech highlighted fraud, vulnerabilities and proof that our adversaries have meddled in and impacted our elections.

Regardless of your political affiliation or feelings about the current administration, every single American should be outraged by reports that were recently declassified and detail serious concerns about the integrity of elections in the United States.

Voter fraud has become one of the defining political issues over the past decade. Democrats insist America’s elections are already among the safest in the world. Republicans cite voter rolls that contain inaccuracies, inconsistent voting procedures across states, and growing public skepticism as evidence that more safeguards are needed. And don’t even get me started on mail in ballots.

During his speech, Trump highlighted several concerns:

China has attempted to interfere in past U.S. elections and intelligence agencies failed to notify elected officials about this information.
Federal agencies have identified hundreds of thousands of registered voters who are non-citizens.
The Department of Homeland Security identified over 250,000 non-citizens who are registered voters in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Nevada.

There was also a lot of discussion about electronic voting machines and their vulnerability to hacking and influencing results. I have personally always been very skeptical of these machines and have questioned their accuracy.

In the small town I live in, paper ballots are placed into a wooden box that is being watched over by a police officer. They are then hand counted by election officials with both police and observers watching and confirming the results. While no system is fool proof, I have a lot more faith in good old-fashioned paper than I do a machine that has the ability to be altered and programmed with nefarious intent.

On a positive note, the Department of Justice is deploying election monitors to six states, including New Hampshire and Massachusetts. This is reassuring and makes me feel a lot more confident that election integrity will be upheld.

Trump also mentioned the importance of the SAVE America Act being passed and how that would have a significant impact on ensuring election integrity. It’s not a lot to ask to have someone prove their citizenship before they exercise one of the most important rights, we as Americans have. Of course, the Democrats fiercely oppose the SAVE America Act and want to continue to dilute the vote of great Americans across our country. To say it’s disgraceful would be an understatement.

Think about this. If the DOJ found over 250,000 non-citizens on voter rolls in just four states, just imagine how rampant the problem is country wide. It’s not only concerning, it’s a major red flag that should concern every American.

After the trove of documents being recently unclassified, combined with fierce opposition from Democrats on the SAVE America Act and their desire to fill America with illegal aliens, there is one thing we know for certain. Democrats oppose election integrity because they will not win elections if only Americans are voting.
