The thieving, drunken, corrupt State Police Gov. Healey is ‘proud of’
Gov. Maura Healey said it.
“I’m proud of the Massachusetts State Police,” she exclaimed during the final election debate Thursday night, when asked about the alleged rape at the State Police barracks on Martha’s Vineyard.
“Do things happen?” she asked. “Sometimes things happen.”
Sometimes things happen.
Those are the exact same words she used in 2023 after the horrific rape of a disabled young woman at one of her “Healey hotels” in Rockland, by an illegal alien from Haiti.
"Those are the exact same words she used in 2023 after the horrific rape of a disabled young woman at one of her “Healey hotels” in Rockland, by an illegal alien from Haiti."
Sometimes things happen – like the more recent rape of a vulnerable young woman in a State Police barracks.
The governor calls them “my State Police.” Last month she said she was “proud” to accept the endorsement of the troopers’ union, SPAM, whose former president is in prison. (See below.)
The list of disgraced state cops during Maura Healey’s political career is practically endless – girlfriend abusers, the gang-unit cop who overdosed on confiscated drugs, the statie whose gun was stolen while he was shacked up in a no-tell motel in Providence, the IT technician who claimed he couldn’t find 32,000 text messages between rape victim Sandra Birchmore and her alleged cop murderer….
“I’m proud of the Massachusetts State Police.”
Can we quote you on that, Governor?
Here’s a list of some of the troopers she’s proudest of:
Ryan Costello, age 27, the trooper at the Martha’s Vineyard barracks who in August invited the alleged rapist to crash at the barracks. According to court testimony, the rapist asked Costello where the troopers kept their supply of condoms before he allegedly raped the young Irish woman. Costello proudly received a medal from Healey for his service.

Dana Pullman, age 65, former president of the MSP union, State Police Association of Massachusetts (SPAM), which proudly endorsed Healey last month. Convicted on corruption charges, Pullman is locked up at the federal prison in Butner NC. BOP #01723-138. Release date: Oct. 2027.

Kristopher Carr, age 30, convicted in state court in 2025 of killing a motorcyclist in Boston while driving drunk in 2021. Currently imprisoned in a state facility.

Ex-Lt. Daniel Griffin, age 63, convicted of federal charges including wire fraud and filing false income tax returns. Imprisoned in New York. BOP #21758-509. Release date: Jan. 2028.

Sgt. Scott Quigley, age 41. Killed a man in Woburn in Dec. 2023 after crossing a double-yellow line while driving 59 m.p.h. in a 30-mph zone. Recorded a .114 BAC at hospital. Received a warning for the MV homicide and was then promoted. MSP covered up fatality for 25 months. Now suspended without pay and awaiting trial on MV homicide charges.

Michael Proctor, age 43, corrupt, racist trooper fired in 2025 for alcohol violations and “unsatisfactory performance” in the wake of the first failed frame-up of Karen Read on murder charges.

Christopher Regan, age 40, charged with beating a fellow trooper in a Quincy bar in June 2026, suspended with pay since the assault, pending a December court hearing. Has made $125,810 so far this year, after pocketing $209,810 last year.

Sgt. Gary Cederquist, age 61, boss of the corrupt CDL unit in Stoughton who “chose bribery.” Convicted in federal court, now imprisoned in WV. His $106,583-a-year pension was halted last year. BOP #96873-510. Release date: Nov. 2030

Andrew Patterson, age 38, “the Foxboro Flasher.” Resigned after being charged at a country music concert in Foxboro with lewd, wanton and lascivious conduct. The charges were dismissed, he resigned and since Sept. 2020 has been pocketing a pension of $5,662 a month.

Calvin Butner, age 66, convicted in the CDL scandal. Released from federal prison Dec. 2025. BOP #12387-506. Still collecting state pension of $72,236.76 a year.

Det. Lt. Brian Tully, age 55, worked for Norfolk County DA Meatball Morrissey, to whom he contributed $550. Disciplined after first failed frame up of Karen Read, retired April 2026. Pension: $102,908 a year.

Leigha Genduso, age 45. Longtime drug dealer, money launderer, perjurer and live-in girlfriend of a major drug kingpin, she was hired as a trooper when she began dating an MSP superior officer. She was quickly promoted to the elite K-9 unit. Dishonorably discharged after her sordid past was exposed — by the press, not the MSP.
