Despite her chuckles, Kamala Harris is no laughing matter

If you think the mainstream media affords President Biden preferential treatment — and believe me, I do — it’s nothing compared to the leaving-alone they give Vice President Kamala Harris.

Is it normal for the vice president to get less coverage than the president? Of course.

But it is becoming more clear with every out-of-breath “God love ya” that the commander-in-chief is rapidly declining. Therefore, one might think that the person next in line of succession to the presidency might garner a bit more scrutiny from the Ministry of Truth.

However, Harris seems to be laughing — or cackling — her way to the top.

While I might not be her biggest fan, I have to give madame vice president credit: She is really good at exploiting Joe Biden’s weaknesses to her advantage.

Even during her short-lived presidential campaign, then-Sen. Harris received her biggest polling bump because of a memorable dig at Joe.

ABC News wrote, “California Sen. Kamala Harris took former Vice President Joe Biden to task during the Democratic presidential debate on Thursday for his opposition to busing as a means of desegregating American schools.”

In fact, this fiery back-and-forth led to Harris’ quotable line she later made into $30 T-shirts: “That little girl was me.”

The former prosecutor knew that pitting herself against the old, grumpy, white man was a sure-fire way to gain some traction.

So if a feeble Joe Biden set up a nice pick for Harris back then — why not now?

And if the president’s wind-induced spills on the stairs of Air Force One aren’t accomplishing the task, his chaotic family is here to help. Even Kamala’s PR flubs can’t compete with the Biden Bunch.

Don’t get me wrong, Harris holding a women’s empowerment event with Bill Clinton reads like a Babylon Bee headline. It also begs the question, was Andrew Cuomo unavailable?

But even so, Joe’s troubled son Hunter is here to steal the spotlight.

While Hunter’s issue had nothing to do with a forgotten laptop or a 2.8 carat diamond, it still was wacky.

Politico reported that in 2018 Hunter’s ex-girlfriend/sister-in-law Hallie threw away his .38 revolver in a trashcan behind a grocery store (and across the street from a high school).

I guess Major the snippy German shepherd isn’t the only Biden in the dog house.

And while all these Dynasty-esque plot lines unravel, Harris’ nonstop incompetence seems to go relatively unnoticed.

Keep in mind that on the rare occasion that the VP decides to talk to the press, she almost always bungles it.

Recently when a reporter asked Harris if she plans on visiting the border, she began hysterically laughing.

“Not today. But I have before and I’m sure I will again,” she said between giggling.

Do all of the Democrats who used to care about kids in cages — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Stephen Lynch, Sen. Elizabeth Warren — now find the border crisis funny? Or is it just Harris who has the odd sense of humor?

When she isn’t nervously laughing, she is incessantly lying.

After months of fear-mongering over the safety of the vaccine, Harris suddenly spun a different story.

During an interview with Axios’ Mike Allen, Harris claimed that the Trump administration left “no national strategy or plan for vaccinations.”

Even Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is no fan of Trump’s, denies that whopper.

Despite the bogus claim, a few days later Biden told a lie that made Harris’ pale in comparison.

Joe, unafraid of the CNN fact-checkers who’ve all gone on permanent vacation, told Anderson Cooper that the country didn’t have a vaccine — as in, any vaccine — when he came into office.

It is safe to say that when it comes to bald-faced lies, Biden is hard to beat.

Undoubtedly Harris is again benefiting from simply not being Joe Biden.

If Joe gets through a day of activities without breaking his foot or smelling someone’s neck, the press chalks it up as a grand success for the 78-year-old.

And apparently they can’t hold his female veep to any higher standard — even though as the president’s weaknesses become harder to excuse, Harris waits in the wings.

The polling data during the primaries proved that Kamala Harris can’t win over voters. But Harris no longer needs polls or voters.

She just needs patience.

Don’t let the giggles fool you. Vice President Harris is no laughing matter.
