I always say, it’s not that every Massachusetts state judge is rotten, it’s just that dodgy 98% of them who give such a bad name to the 2% who are on the level.
So try not to let what I’m about to tell you destroy your faith in the rock-ribbed integrity of the Massachusetts judiciary.
Judge Shannon Frison is a $184,694-a-year Superior Court judge who was arrested Sunday night in Hudson and charged with domestic assault and battery – allegedly attacking her wife as the victim was holding their 4-year-old child.
According to the Hudson police, these are some of the things the judge was screaming Sunday night:
“Don’t touch me, get your hands off me. I’m a superior judge. I’m a superior judge, you can’t arrest me, let me go.”
The cops also quoted a witness, a neighbor, who happened upon this horrific scene of domestic abuse while out walking his dog. The judge was in a silver BMW, which he saw “speed down the street and cut in front of the woman, blocking her path. The female operator began screaming at the woman with the child. At one point, the vehicle left the scene only to return with the operator yelling, ‘Now you have this white boy with his dog protecting you!’”
I repeat: “Now you have this white boy with his dog protecting you!”
Is that hate speech by the former president of the Massachusetts Black Judges Conference, who was also a panelist at a recent LGBT Bar Association Lavender Law Conference?
Wasn’t a white Superior Court judge basically forced to retire a couple of years ago because of certain alleged untoward remarks he made … while in his own judicial chambers?
Does anyone think that Judge Frison is going to be forced off the bench because of her obnoxious, racially tinged temper tantrum, in front of her own child? Could there possibly be, dare I say it, a double standard here?
Who is this Judge Frison? you ask.
Here is how she described herself a few weeks back on Channel 4: “I’m a poor, black woman from Chicago, who’s also gay and a Marine.”
She was appointed, first to the District Court, and then to the Superior Court, by Gov. Deval Patrick, who is, like her, from Chicago, although he’s not a Marine.
Incidentally, she did not donate to her fellow Chicagoan Deval, but she did duke then-Sen. Dianne Wilkerson of Roxbury, before that Democrat was carted off to Club Fed for stuffing $100 bills into her bra on an FBI surveillance video.
Let’s go back to the Hudson police reports from Sunday night.
This is from Officer Kevin Johnson, in an unmarked cruiser, who got a call from the dispatcher of “an upset female that was holding an infant,” and that “a silver vehicle was attempting to follow the upset female, and that the driver was exiting the vehicle yelling at the upset female.”
Officer Johnson spoke to the victim, who said she and the judge “have been having a tough marriage recently.”
I’m sure those erstwhile lovebirds Stanley Rosenberg and Bryon Hefner can feel your pain, ma’am.
The judge, the wife told cops, “grabbed the back of her head with her hand and with a strong amount of force ripped her head back by her hair.”
The judge’s wife attempted to flee, but “FRISON followed her in her vehicle, exited the vehicle and began to scream at her and then jumped back into her vehicle and sped off at a high rate of speed.”
When Johnson finally approached the extinguished jurist, “FRISON was still screaming and yelling at the end of the driveway. I attempted to ask FRISON what happened, but she refused to speak with me. I then ordered FRISON to turn around, she refused and I gained control of her bicep, in an escort position. I then placed FRISON in handcuffs. I checked for proper tightness, and double locked the handcuffs.”
In her interview in July with Channel 4, the judge said that before a judge is nominated, “There’s a pretty decent amount of vetting that goes on.”
Not enough, though, apparently.
By the way, the Hudson police also confiscated two firearms from the judge’s house — a pair of Ruger semi-automatic pistols, one of which had a bullet in the chamber. Her LTC was immediately suspended after her arrest “for M.G.L. Ch. 2665 S. 13M.”
The judge’s lawyer, William Kettlewell, issued the following statement ahead of her next court appearance to answer the criminal charges Oct. 10:
“Judge Frison and her wife are disappointed that a private matter between them has resulted in the filing of criminal charges … Judge Frison denies the charges and hopes for a speedy resolution in court.”
Which she’ll no doubt get, wink wink nudge nudge. She won’t even need a white boy with a dog.
In her interview with Channel 4 about the alleged lack of “diversity” in state courts, the judge complained that no matter what crime you’re charged with, “you’re almost guaranteed to be in front of a white judge.”
But it won’t be a problem for the judge. I’m absolutely 100 percent certain of that, because in Massachusetts, in the halls of justice, the only justice is in the halls.
