Too Smart to Fail (Tweet Beat) 10.13.20

It is time for Tweet Beat– the best place to read up on all of the quotes, videos and clapbacks you may have missed since yesterday.

Let’s start with Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s SCOTUS confirmation hearings.

Too Smart to Fail.

There are some people whom I put in the “too smart to fail” category.

Besides Judge ACB, other examples include intellects like AG William Barr, Senator Ted Cruz, journalist Mollie Hemingway and Vice President Mike Pence.

These people are so intelligent and well-versed in their areas of expertise that they are unshakeable. They know what they are talking about and don’t need to rely on eyerolls or snarky one-liners or emotion.

In some cases…they don’t even need any notes. Judge Amy Coney Barrett can handle the theatrics from Democrats. Because at the end of the day, her brain is going to beat their bravado every single time.

Sometimes we all just need a deep breath, a large crowd cheering and the Village People. Enjoy this video of the President boogying after a raucous rally in Florida.

Remember when everyone thought that Governor Andrew Cuomo was going to run for President? It was only a few month ago, but it feels like a lifetime has passed since that inane thought crossed the minds of Americans.

Since then, Fredo Cuomo’s older brother has proven he is not up to the task of Governor–let alone POTUS. Here are a few reasons you might think Cuomo would be appearing on the Today Show this week:

  1. To resign as Governor of New York– a position that he clearly cannot handle.
  2. To formally apologize to the families that lost loved ones in NY nursing homes.
  3. To formally apologize for putting CNN viewers through those painful and offensive Smothers Brothers skits.

Here is the reason why he actually appeared: to promote a new book about his handling of the pandemic.

You know you’re low-class when even the guys at NBC are embarrassed for you.

I’ll add more tweets as the day goes on!

Update! Amy vs. Amy (Spoiler the Judge wins!)
