Taylor’s Takes: It must be miserable to be a Democrat

It must be absolutely miserable to be a Democrat.

Imagine waking up in fear on behalf of a bunch of people you don’t know. A fear that is completely unfounded, and based solely on what your senator has screeched out on X the night before.

Imagine ignoring the simple facts of every proposal and course of action by Republicans, and letting your misinformed emotions dictate your response.

Imagine being so closed-minded that you refuse to engage in healthy debate, and choose instead to shout your poorly rehearsed mantras into the faces of passersby.

You go home, furiously read the day’s headlines, and weep yourself to sleep before repeating the same cycle the next day.

After Donald Trump won the election in November, viewership for liberal strongholds like MSNBC and CNN dropped precipitously. It seemed the crazed Kamala supporters were too downtrodden to tune in to the even more insane anchors. They were too depressed to listen to prognostications of what was to come in a second Trump term.

It looks like those days are over. Seventeen days into Trump 2.0 and the ungrateful deadheads are already taking to the streets to protest the sweeping actions ordered by the President.

Trump has absolutely broken them. The liberals couldn’t exercise restraint for just 30 days. They barely made it half a month before the rage they’d been told to feel drove them out into the town squares across America.

I suppose I haven’t been much help. Nearly every anti-Trump meme I come across on my Facebook timeline I obey the urge to comment “Seethe harder.”

Over the weekend, mobs of Spanish-speaking protesters shut down the 101 in Los Angeles. I’d call them Americans, but I have the feeling that if a squadron of ICE officers had shown up the crowd would have scattered faster than a group of cockroaches after the light had flicked on.

The herd of hombres were seen waving Mexican flags, while also carrying signs and chanting in opposition of President Trump’s mass deportation operation.

I’ll join in asking the question that so many others have asked on social media: If you love Mexico so much that you’re willing to wave the flag in America, why not go back? Self-deport, as Border Czar Tom Homan has said.

During Trump’s first term, just under 1 million illegal aliens were deported. At the rate ICE is currently rounding up trespassers, the Trump administration will be able to surpass a total of 1 million deportees in less than two years. An estimated 2.1 million will have been forcefully removed at the end of Trump’s second term if ICE continues to arrest the 1,500-per-day target.

While the rate is not nearly enough, it is laughable to protest – especially when you consider the success of Donald’s first predecessor in this field. Barack Obama, dubbed Deporter-In-Chief, is documented to have removed 3.2 million of the undocumented.

Do you recall anyone marching in the streets and shutting down highways to protest Obama’s operation? I don’t. Democrats weren’t staging photo-ops at the makeshift chain-link cells used to house illegal immigrant families along the border as they awaited their one-way tickets.

“Who built the cages, Joe?” Trump famously and rhetorically asked of Biden in one of the two 2020 Presidential debates. “Obama and Biden” was the answer that never came.

But because Orange Man Bad is behind this latest round-up, all of the malnourished beta males and the overly-nourished purple-haired females are crying publicly about human rights.

The more recent and pathetic excuse for a protest was outside of the USAID building in Washington, D.C. Tuesday evening. After Elon Musk’s DOGE had all but shut down the rogue agency, a who’s who of rabid, frothing Democrats made noisy, yet weak statements over the perceived injustice that had taken place.

“When the people fight,” shouted Rep. Maxine Waters. “We win,” came the response from the dozens of people gathered before her.

“Elon Musk wants everyone in America to be at the mercy of Elon Musk,” quivered Senator Elizabeth Warren. “We are here to fight back!”

“This is the time when we have to stand up and to fight,” blubbered Senator Ed Markey. “When we come back here the next time, there should be hundreds of thousands and millions of people descending on Washington, D.C.!”

“People fight.”

“Here to fight back.”

“Stand up and to fight.”

Sounds insurrection-y to me.

But there is not going to be any “fight” from these Dems. They’re all perennial blowhards. Foul-weather friends. Whipping people into fury and never delivering on their empty promises.

After all, how do you “fight” against an absolute, unequivocal mandate? A mandate handed to Donald Trump to do just what he’s doing: saving the American taxpayers a bundle by stamping out federal fraud and waste.

The Maxine Waterses, the Liz Warrens, and the Ed Markeys need to pace themselves. We’re not a month into this presidency and they’re already exhausting their followers.

I can already tell the lunatic liberals are tired and confused. I drove by a small gaggle of them in Fairhaven last night holding makeshift signs decrying Trump and Musk. I slowed down, rolled down my window, and shouted “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

The poor things were so tired and confused, at least two of them thanked me for my support of their cause.

Perhaps the Waterses, Warrens, and Markeys will tire them out so much they’ll soon find themselves supporting Trump’s efforts to better their lives.

I will welcome them with open arms on that day. Let them rest their weary selves on the MAGA side. Perhaps I’ll lend them my My Pillow.
