RFK Jr., the Outcast Kennedy, Has Dems Reeling

The more state-run media call Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a crackpot and a lunatic and an “anti-vaccine quack,” the more I’m thinking I like this guy.

Bobby Jr. is coming to Boston next week to formally announce his candidacy for the 2024 Democrat nomination for president.

At age 69, he’s the youngster on the Democrat side, after incumbent president Dementia Joe Biden (80) and spiritual nut Marianne Williamson (71 in July).

It tells you something about modern politics that for most of his dissipated life, despite the most appalling sorts of behavior – hard drugs, booze, philandering to the max — Bobby Junior was a well-respected member in good standing of the Democrat party.

He began slowly drifting off the Democrat plantation years ago, but he always had that Kennedy thing going for him, especially the famous name of his martyred father.

But then he committed the ultimate blasphemy – he profaned the sainted Dr. Anthony Fauci, wrote a best-selling expose about him. And after that he was, well, unclean. He was shunned by all the Beautiful People.

To understand just what a pariah RFK Jr. has become to state-run media and the Democrat party (but I repeat myself), check out the recent story about his candidacy from the Associated Press, a semi-official organ of the deep state.

For starters, they said he was “once” a best-selling author. But that was before he became “fixated” on vaccines, and because of that, he “prospered” during the Panic. (As did the Democrat party, for that matter, not to mention its subsidiaries, the welfare-industrial complex and Big Pharma.)

Then the AP mentions his 2021 book, “The Real Anthony Fauci,” which by the way was a big bestseller. But the AP dismissed it because it “promoted unproven COVID-19 treatments” including ivermectin and hydrochloroquine.

Yet couldn’t the argument be made that both of thhose seem to have worked pretty well, at least compared to, say, masks, plexiglass and lockdowns, among all the government’s other “unproven” Panic panaceas.

But of course the Panic was never about science, it was about obedience, to the state. And by refusing to bend a knee, Bobby, despite his background, will forever be branded a pariah, a heretic, an infidel.

When you start backsliding from Democrat orthodoxy, you fall in with a bad crowd. Let the AP explain who Bobby now runs around with.

“Kennedy has appeared at events pushing the lie that the 2020 presidential election was stolen and with people who cheered or downplayed the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol….”

Lie? Insurrection?

Imagine if the AP were to do a similar story on Biden, when (or if) he announces for another term. I wonder whether they would treat him with the same withering scorn that they reserve for RFK Jr.

Yesterday, the New York Post ran another story about how the rest of the Kennedys are “disgusted” with his campaign.

Well of course they are. You may have noticed that Kennedys can’t get elected to political office anymore. They are now in the ambassadorial class – appointees, supplicants. Cousin Caroline is the ambassador to Australia, nephew JoJoJo is the special envoy to something or other in Northern Ireland.

If you’re an ambassador, you’re supposed to stick with the president who gave you the gig. That was Grampy Joe’s problem with FDR back before World War II, you may recall from history books.

Plus, Bobby’s always been a bit of a renegade with the family. Back in 1983, his cousin Sydney Lawford got married on Cape Cod to one of my coworkers at Channel 7. In its wedding notice, the New York Times noted that RFK Jr. had been “absent” from the nuptials, then elaborated:

“He was charged Friday with possession of heroin in South Dakota.”

Probably he won’t be joined at the official announcement here by his sister Kerry, the ex-wife of disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Kerry introduced him to her college roommate at Brown. Mary Richardson became his second wife and later committed suicide in Mount Kisco.

Kerry’s own marriage broke up when she took up with a playboy polo player whose wife was then grabbed on the rebound by, well, here’s the headline from the New York Post on May 25 2012:

“RFK Jr. ‘bedded’ heartbroken wife of sister’s lover boy: sources.”

That headline ran a year before the Post got its hands on his diaries from 2001, as he bemoans his “lust demons.” You can read all about his conquests, and his grading system for how far he got. Just google RFK Jr. and “lust demons.”

But whatever you say about RFK Jr., he never drowned a woman, like his uncle. He never crippled one, like his brother. He never raped an underage babysitter, like another of his brothers. He’s never been accused of raping a woman, like one of his cousins, or beating a teenaged neighbor girl to death with a golf club, like another of his cousins.

Come to think of it, his opponent for the Democratic nomination, Joe Biden, has been accused of rape, by his former aide Tara Reade. And unlike Biden, none of Bobby’s daughters have ever written in their diaries that Daddy used to take long showers with them when they were 11 years old.

Compared to Joe Biden, in fact, Bobby Kennedy Jr. is a paragon of virtue.

I know, he doesn’t have a chance. He’s running against a master politician, a silver-tongued devil who, when asked about the Easter egg roll at the White House the other day, predicted he’d be around for a long time.

“I’ll either be rolling eggs or you know, being, you know, the guy who’s pushing ‘em out.”

The Democrats are the party of no-info voters, but even for them, Biden’s senescence is getting hard to overlook. Kennedy may be a quack and a lunatic and a nut, but who would you take in a one-one debate – Brandon or Bobby Jr.

For Kennedy right now, the old saying is true. Every knock a boost.
