Massachusetts hemorrhaging green to fund climate cash grab

Massachusetts is flushing billions of dollars down the drain, and I’m not talking about the ongoing costly illegal-alien housing crisis.

Gov. Maura Healey has signed a $4 billion climate tech bill called the Leads Act.  It could be accurately be called the Leaks Act – as in “leaking” money.

While President Donald Trump is promising to claw back the wasteful climate tech spending from the fraudulent Inflation Reduction Act, the Commonwealth is spending $4 billion on climate change, which is a theory, junk science in all likelihood.

A decade ago the trending hypothesis was global warming. When we had extremely cold winters with record-breaking snowfalls, the environmentalist cult decided to update their scare tactics to “climate change.”

How does Beacon Hill justify this expense? They claim that this Democrat expenditure is going to be successful – of course it is. Like letting 10 illegal aliens into the country and putting them all on welfare and not requiring them to obey the laws, any laws.

Of course, the latest boondoggle has incentives for certain industries. Once again, government (a Healey-run government) is picking winners and losers with our tax dollars!

The pork includes $200 million for infrastructure to support offshore wind-farm industry.  That’s right; we have $200 million riding on wind turbines which have already been proven a failure. Nothing says clean environment like having to wear heavy shoes on a beach to avoid getting cut by shards of fiberglass.

There is another $200 million for nonprofits’ research and commercialization of climate technologies. When I hear the word “nonprofit” these days I think far-left political activist groups. What sort of research are these green nonprofits going to do? You and I know this painful answer.

One of the people who has been pushing for this boondoggle is Joe Curtatone. Sound familiar? He was the mayor of Somerville who campaigned in favor of automatic gas tax hikes. He was also welcomed illegal immigrants. As mayor, he was all in on COVID lockdowns – the more draconian and idiotic, the better.

So it is no wonder he is pushing for more wasteful spending?

Guess how Joe is now employed? He is the president of Alliance for Climate Transition – a nonprofit! How much of our money is he going to get to preach to us?

Like every tax dollar spent by Beacon Hill, there are hack winners. Who loses? The taxpayers, people who have real jobs and produce real goods and services. As far as Beacon Hill is concerned, they’re the chumps.

This latest $4 billion cornucopia of hack handouts will not make our environment cleaner. It is a payoff to the politically connected environmentalist cults.

I can say this because, unlike Joe Curtatone, I have a degree in biology and chemistry.
