Free Flight to Vineyard Apparently Nasty, Cruel Stunt

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

If you’re going to spend a decade demanding sanctuary cities and sweeping amnesty, sooner or later you’re going to get exactly what you asked for.

This shift from compassionate-yet-strong to wide-open borders began about midway through the Obama administration. The ideology was insane, the execution was sloppy, and now it’s all on tape.

A 2014 White House hype video, sprinkled with misappropriated Biblical theatrics, enlightens Americans with Barry’s vision—donned “common sense solution”—for immigration reform.

“We want a system,” Obama generalized, “that takes into account that there are good people out there who made a mistake but are very much our neighbors, our friends.”

And now, eight years later, “neighbors” is exactly what they are to the Obama’s. A few dozen Venezuelan illegals, to be exact. Landing just a few miles from Barack and Michelle’s multimillion-dollar Martha’s Vineyard mansion yesterday on a charter flight from Florida.

According to a spokesperson for Governor Ron DeSantis, “The two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.”

America’s Governor floated the possibility for months, including a $12 Million line in the state budget for relocation transportation.

After almost two years of Border Czar Kamala’s incompetency something had to be done.

“It’s somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but it is true,” DeSantis told a press conference late last December. “If you sent them to Delaware or Martha’s Vineyard or some of these places, that border would be secure the next day.”

Since Massachusetts has been judicially deemed a sanctuary state since 2017, the de luxe little island fit the bill.

DeSantis’ idea may not be an original, however. Last October Texas Senator Ted Cruz proposed the Stop the SURGE Act demanding that the Biden administration address the “unprecendeted, man-made crisis on the South Texas border.” While introducing the bill, Cruz suggested his mission was “to alleviate the massive overload at the southern border by establishing new ports of entry in Democrat-led communities such as North Hero, Vermont, where Bernie Sanders spends his summers, and Martha’s Vineyard, where Democrat elites host their cocktail parties.”

Tucker Carlson also floated the idea during a FOX News monologue this July. His analytical reasoning appeals to the left’s love for “diversity” and should convince anyone on the fence about welcoming droves of strangers into his state.

Obama’s “cottage” is in Edgartown, which is 95.7% white, he begins. Three percent of Edgartown residents were born outside the United States. “Three percent” in Edgartown means 17 people. So effectively no diversity. Zip. Nada. And in Democrat math, Tucker continued, no diversity equals no strength.

“They are begging for more diversity. Why not send migrants there in huge numbers…let’s start from 300,000 and move up from there.”

Even more perfect, starting with Ted Kennedy, Bay State Democrats have been incredibly gung-ho on hospitality to foreign influxes. Now they’re even pushing for drivers’ licenses for illegal aliens, a question the voters will decide this November.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley assured us in Feburary 2020 that “our communities are made stronger by our immigrant neighbors and we will not turn our back on them.”

Within days of Pressley’s comment, we saw a tweet from Sen. Elizabeth Warren claiming any sanctuary-city ban would “separate families, scapegoat communities, and pit [citizens] against each other.”

Sounds like the Venezuelans are here to stay, Edgartownies. But not without a mass airing of grievances from the blue checkmarks.

Ed Markey, who previously labeled Trump’s strong border policies as “dictatorship” and “terror,” took to Twitter late Wednesday night to accuse DeSantis of “using humans as props in a cruel stunt.” Exploitation, says Liz. If you ask Whoopi Goldberg, though I’m not sure why anyone would, it was a “nasty” move by the “bonehead” in the Florida governor’s office. And plenty more elites are sudden experts in ethics when it comes to the “inhumane” actions by the Sunshine State.

A free flight to the Vineyard? So cruel, Ron. So inhumane.
